The 90’s ethnic print trend has had a solid resurgence over the past couple of years from footwear to capes, skirts and bags. Fall 2010 brought a frenzy of nouveau Najavo prints reminiscent of my 6th grade pullover jacket, but with updated colors and tidy tailoring. Heritage themes such as this one are currently flooding the runway but are done best by the labels that base their branding on the ruggedness of the American landscape. We’ve seen a revival from the likes of Penfield, Smith Brothers, Woolrich and my personal favorite Pendleton, and the trend continues into spring ’11.
I can envision a snowboarding trip ending with woven woolen blankets in bold triangle patterns juxtaposed with subtle contemporary classics such as cable knits, denim and khaki.
